The card body is made of paper. It can be split into layers keeping in mind the global security criteria. The card body is completely recyclable. This means that:

• No plastic overlay is allowed even the plastic formula is proven recyclable (e.g. Poly Ethylene, etc).
• There are no components or security features which are not recyclable or do not have satisfactory environmental properties.

The reference is the ISO 7810 standard for plastic cards dimensions with tolerances widened (paper is more subject to variations) as follows:
